Associate Research Director, Auto-ID Labs ETH Zurich / HSG
Klaus is the Director for Industry Collaborations at the newly founded ETH AI Center and Associate Research Director for the Auto-ID Labs at ETH Zurich. Klaus is also the co-chair of the Digital Receipt Interest Group, a group of GS1 colleagues from MOs around the world aiming to share knowledge from digital receipt implementations and to create a GS1-wide understanding of digital receipts.
In his research work, Klaus' focus is on applying machine learning to predict consumer behavior from digital receipt data. For example, estimating individual dietary intake from purchase log assessments and deriving related interventions to improve nutritional intake. Such scalable monitoring methods promise to be an effective method in mitigating the growing prevalence of diet-related diseases. Klaus and his team were recently awarded with two four-year research grants by the Swiss National Research Foundation to extend the research work on digital receipts to make contributions in the nutrition and sustainability contexts.
Session: Thursday, 22 October, 14:00 - 15:30 (CET), I want to innovate now!
